In Ayurveda, spring is often called the “mud season,” and for good reason. The elements of earth and water become more dominant—just like the once-frozen ditch in my backyard, which has now turned to a mud ditch. As the temperature rises, we naturally feel a shift in our bodies, often experiencing the urge to move more and spend time outdoors. I always look forward to teaching yoga in the spring, as it offers an opportunity to refresh our practice, shake off the heaviness of winter, and embrace the lightness of the new season.
