The cold has moved in here in the Midwest. I am trying to keep up with daily walks for fresh air and sun exposure. Some days are easier than others. Soon enough, I will also be getting my “happy light” out (I have been using this one for a few years now). Since it can feel dark very early I recently ordered these battery operated candles to put throughout our house. I appreciate a real candle but I find that these will be much better for me to have around 😉… I do like to light a real candle in the early morning hours when I am doing my Yoga practice. There is nothing more ambient, cozy and calming than lighting your favorite candle.
Restorative Yoga
I find that my Yoga practice also shifts with the arrival of winter and I try to get extra cozy and linger longer in savasana. Restorative Yoga definitely becomes more of a regular practice for me during the winter months.
Treat yourself or someone else (gift certificates are available!) to a full guided restorative yoga practice in December. Amy Hepburn and I will be hosting our last Restorative Yoga class of the year on Thursday, December 7th at the Cancer Wellness Center. This restorative class will be made up of a series of simple movements to warm up the body, followed by relaxing restorative poses which will be held for an extended period of time with props. Props will be provided, however please feel free to bring your own. (This class is a private event being offered by Amy and Katie and is not part of the CWC Yoga program). I hope you’ll join us!
The class is 6-7:30pm and is $25 (registration closes Wednesday 12/6). If you participated in the last virtual restorative yoga class in November please reach out directly to me to register for this in person class.

Workshop Suggestions
Is there something new you would like to learn to expand your own personal Yoga practice? I would love to offer you some specific workshops this winter. The great thing about Yoga Therapy is that it offers multiple tools that can be implemented into a Yoga practice; breath work, nidras, mudras, marmas… These various tools include so much more than what we can cover in a weekly Yoga class. Please share your feedback in THIS simple survey to give me a better idea of what to offer you this winter.
My current teaching and workshop schedule is posted on my site and on my link tree.
Thank You!
Thank you for reading my newsletter and for continuing to practice and learn with me.
Warmly,
